Understanding the Sales & Transactions Dashboard

The Sales & Transactions Dashboard is a module of Resto iQ Analytics that shows relevant information regarding the sales data and transactions data of your business.

How to Access

This dashboard is accessible by clicking Analytics (Step 1), then click Sales and Transactions below.

Filters

There are three main filters that users can adjust depending on what data is required to be displayed. These are the following: Account, Transaction, and Location.

Figure 1.1 - Account Filters

These are accounts you have registered. You may filter data by the following:

  • By Accounts
  • Company v Franchise Owned (to tag your stores, please contact Customer Support)
  • By Brand

These can be very useful even for large organizations where there are multiple brands and/or accounts in their operations. You may even view the performance of franchise-owned stores vs your company owned stores.

Figure 1.2 - Transaction Filters

Choose to see data by transaction parameters. These can be useful to isolate information and review trends and tendencies of your market. You may filter by (but is not limited to the following):

Filters 1.3 - Location Filters

Not only the user can compare results of each store, but the user can also understand further which area/region/location is most profitable and even investigate further the tendencies of the market relative to other places. The user may filter by:

  • Location *
  • Opening Date *
  • Region
  • City
  • Location Category *
  • Store Type *
  • Area Type *
  • Area Size *

* - Locations and these highlighted dimensions need to be manually tagged by connecting with Customer Support.

Figure 2 - Where to find the filters

These are found on top of the Analytics dashboard, up above the Reports section. To know more about these, you may visit the following references:

Key Metrics Value Cards (KMVC)

KMVCs provide users a quick overview of their business' performance. Together with the filters above, this allows the user to quickly understand some key metrics without the need to go deep into submenus and reports. This saves time and reduces mental fatigue.

Found right below the filters and while these quickly provide information, these KMVCs are also expandable. Upon clicking, relevant information about that particular card will be displayed on a pop-up window.

It represents the initial amount of income a business earns from its sales activities. This KMVC will also display the growth rate vs the previous year and the amount.

Total Transactions - this is the total transaction count together with growth rates (Year-on-year) and the previous year's count.

Total Guests - this is the total guest count based on the pax count that the front-end cashiers/order takers have inputed on the POS.

Average Check Size - given the receipt count, this gives the user an average check size which comes in useful when understanding the behavior and the spending capacity of the target market.

Average Spend per Guest - given the guest count, this gives the user an average spend per guest that comes in useful when understanding the target market similar with other metrics.

Total Discount Value - This provides a summary of the overall discounts granted to customers.

Here's a similar looking chart to the previously mentioned Time-Interval Switcher where the user can change different parameters to adjust the chart.

Scrolling down below reveals Pivot tables very similar to pivot tables found on Microsoft Excel and other platforms. A separate QRG (Quick Reference Guide) will be uploaded specifically just for Report Builder.
