To perform clear cache, click the clear cache button during the login sequence.
Clearing the cache on your Mosaic POS improves speed, fixes problems caused by outdated data, and resolves loading errors by removing temporary files stored on your POS device. A cache holds temporary data to retrieve it faster, but it takes up a lot of memory that can slow down the device if there is too much data.
Clear the cache on your POS when you experience the following:
1. When the POS slows down or freezes.
2. When tables that have billed out and settled still remain as occupied on the POS.
3. When you notice a visual discrepancy in the user interface.
4. When there is a new update to the POS.
Clearing the cache on your POS devices should be part of regular maintenance procedures. However, there is a right time to clear the cache. Your cache should not be cleared when the temporary data it holds is still being used.
Do not clear the cache in the following scenarios:
1. When the POS has unsettled transactions.
2. When there are transactions that have not yet been synced to the cloud. You will know if all the transactions have synced when the cloud icons have all turned green.
IMPORTANT: If you accidentally cleared the cache while there are still pending transactions, void the transaction and input the orders again. If in case an issue persists, contact our customer support for assistance.
There are 2 ways of clearing the cache on your POS, depending on how it was installed on your device.
- Clearing Cache if your Mosaic POS is an installed as a PWA (Progressive Web App)
- Clearing Cache in your Mosaic POS is installed as a mobile app.
I. Clearing the cache if your Mosaic POS is a PWA (Progressive Web App)
1. Go to Settings of your tablet or POS device.
2. Once you are inside the settings module. Go to Apps & Notifications.
3. Find and click “Chrome”.
4. Click “Storage & Cache”.
5. Click “Clear Storage”.
6. Then click “Clear Cache”.
II. Clearing the cache on your Mosaic POS mobile app.
If you are using the Mosaic POS as a mobile application installed on your device, You must clear the cache on three (3) applications:
a. Android System WebView
b. Mosaic POS
c. Google Chrome
a. First, you must clear the cache on Android System WebView
1. Go to Settings of Tablet.
2. Go to Apps & Notifications.
3. Once you are inside the App Info, Find and click “Android System WebView”.
4. Click “Storage & Cache”.
5. Click Clear Storage and Clear Cache.
b. Second, clear the cache on Mosaic POS.
1. Go to Settings of Tablet.
2. Go to Apps & Notifications.
3. On the list of Applications, find and click Mosaic POS.
4. Click Storage & Cache.
5. Click Clear Storage and Clear Storage.
c. Third, clear the cache on Google Chrome.
1. Go to Settings of Tablet.
2. Go to Apps & Notifications.
3. Find and click Chrome.
4. Click Storage & Cache.
5. Click Clear Cache and Clear Storage.
