Inventory categories and sub-categories help organize the inventory module of Resto iQ specially when there are hundreds if not thousands of SKU items. In 8-9 simple steps, administrators can easily create a new category/sub-category.
Hierarchy and Organization
In Resto iQ, product categories house all sub-categories. To create a sub-category, it must be configured in an existing product category.
Step-by-Step
1. Navigate to https://app.restoiq.com/products/my-products
2. Click "Inventory".
3. Click "My inventory".
4. On top, click "Inventory categories".
5. Click "Add Category".
6. Click the "Name" field and type the name of the new category.
7. Click "Type" and select either "COGS or NON-COGS".
From here, if you do not wish to add a sub-category, you may skip Step 8, and click "Create".
8. To add a sub-category, click "Add Subcategory".
9. When done, click "Create"
You have successfully created a new Inventory Category and/or a Inventory Sub-category.
