Venues

Configure your event venue by assigning a location, setting up subsections, and designing an interactive seat map for ticket sales.

Venues
The Venues section allows you to assign a physical location to your event and build a custom seat map for ticket sales. You can define subsections (e.g., VIP, Gold, Blue, General Admission) to represent different seating zones or price tiers. Using the interactive seat grid, you can generate seat codes by dragging across multiple seats, mark individual seats as Available, Inactive, On Hold, Reserved, or Selected, and set the Direction of the Stage for orientation. This tool is essential for events with assigned seating – such as concerts, theater shows or fests – ensuring customers can choose specific spots and you can manage inventory down to the individual seat level.

Configure your venues by following these steps:

1. Get a copy of your seat map, like this example below:

2. Click “+Create new”

3. Input the necessary details for your venue.

  •  (Optional) Toggle on “HelixPay Exclusive” if you want the venue to be exclusive to this specific merchant/brand.
  •  Encode the venue name and address.
  • (Optional) Encode the location coordinates.
  •  Encode the maximum seating capacity.
  •  Encode the text for the direction of the stage.
  •  (Optional) Upload a photo of the stage icon.

4. Click “+Add” under Venue Templates.

5. Encode the Venue Template Name.

6. Click “+Add Section”.

7. Encode the section name, maximum number of rows and columns and “single seats” for the seat type.

8. Click “+Add” to add the subsections based on your seatmap. Then, encode the name and assign a color.

9. Assign the seats generated based on your seatmap.

  • For the seat codes, you may generate seat codes automatically or manually encode them.
  • When you click any of the seats, you need to assign the subsection, seat status and add a note.
  • Tip: Making a seat inactive/on hold is not just for empty seats. You can use this function to divide the sections. In this example, the dividers are Rows C, F and I.
