How to Reconfigure or Reconnect the TPLink Router

To reconfigure the router, users must go to their browser while being connected to the TP-Link Router.

This Quick Reference Guide is for users who are experiencing disconnected routers, specifically TP-Link Routers with model number: TLWR-840N.

 

1. Ensure connection with your router:

 

2. Unplug the router from power and wait for 15 to 60 seconds before turning it on.

 

3. Access the gateway IP address of the router using Google Chrome.

Default IP address is: 192.168.0.1

Important Note: If the default IP address is not working, you can inspect the network connection by either touch-and-hold or by clicking the gear icon (this may depend on your device).

 

The secondary IP address is 172.21.20.1.

 

 

4. Once you've accessed the Gateway IP using your browser, it will redirect you to the portal of your TP-Link Router. Default passwords are either of the following:

Admin1234

 

5. Select Login, locate on the navigation pane found on the left side: "Quick Setup", then click Next.

 

 

6. Select WISP then click Next

 

 

7. Select Dynamic IP (most common option)

 

 

8. Select your WiFi network or Hotspot (which has a working internet connection), then click Connect. In this example, we're going to use SSID #Mosaiconeteam.

 

 

9. Enter the Wireless Network Password, then click Next.

 

10. Scroll down and click Finish

 

11. The router will reboot, please wait as this may take a few minutes to reach 100%.
